Hello Kate

Have you traced John back to previous censuses? The 1881 ,71 or 61?
Do you have him with his parents at all,or know what his dad's name is from John's marriage cert?

We should be able to narrow his birth down with a bit more info.
Often necessary with a fairly common surname.

Regards

Carol

Hi Carol
Yes I have John russell in the 1891 and 1881 census, some kind members on Rootschat found him in the other census's.He was born in Hoxton.I am waiting for the marriage of John and hannah to come so hopefully i will be able to get his father's name of that. It's just that i need the individual
page and folio number for him so i can get his birth cert.

His son Cyril Russell, his brother's and sisters were in Percy house, workhouse in 1901 census so i am hoping i can get some sort of records to find out what happened to them, wondering if they were adopted.is it possible to be able to get the records?would i have to go to London to have a look at them are can you order them. Thanks for your help.

Regards

Kate.
