Hi again,
have you seen the Andersons in 1881 - they have Ann O Garra 66 yrs (mother) with them so if you don't have mum's name- she is Ann.

There is also an Anne OGara in Ancoats for a few of the censuses with a son William. Can't find her husband. She too is born Sligo in one and Connaught in another census which is the Province for Sligo.

Hi, thats solved a riddle for me, ooh you are good. I have margaret anderson married to william anderson so there we have a spelling error again, thats why I couldnt find them hee hee Cheesy

Just had a panic and must apologise- they are Anderson in 1881 - typing error  Embarrassed  I have altered the original.

Hi you have been so helpful, thank you so much.  I think I may have found Patrick Ogara in sheffield married as a lodger, a labourer  condition as married, that might tie up with the death in 1861.

Hello,
yes I saw him but thought at the time it may be too much information. I noticed that there was a young Patrick around in Manchester - don't think he was from Sligo and never followed him up but the death could have been him.
You could apply for the certificate and see what transpires.
I have looked around for early Sligo records but not many- it is worth just browsing because people are beginning to post details on the web as they transcribe them.
Hard though, because it could be anywhere I suppose.
best wishes
