housekeeper horsekeeper

Was it possible for a man to have an occupation of "Housekeeper" turn of last century? Unlikely I suppose in those days but you never know. It looks like on the certs it could be Horsekeeper,but looks more like the former.

Yes, I have seen men described as housekeepers - boarding house keeper could be an option also.

Hi Casa,thanks for reply. Yes, I was also just looking through 81 census with Housekeeper as keyword & Male selected. There are alot with "housekeeper" written in "relation to head of household".
