Please does someone have time to look up
James SIMPSON ( b c 1842)who married Susan BEMENT ( b c 1847) in 1865 in cambridge.
looking for them in 1871 census,,, not aware of them having a family then.
I have them in 1881.
maybe you can find them before their marriages in 1861 census?
That would be so great, thank you.
regards
Ann

Trying to get my head around this.
Susan A is in service in 1861: RG9/1023 47 1 Cambridge St Andrew the Less Susan Bement, serv, 15, Servant, b. Cambridge
Head of household is Arron Barnes, Milliner & Draper. Sorry for not posting the complete entry for the Bement family in 1861 earlier, here they are: RG9/1024 31 9 Cambridge St Andrew the Less William Bement, head, 40, Shoe Maker Primitive Methodist Local Preacher, b. Cambridge Sarah, wife, 42, Shoe binder, b. do. Sarah, dau, 14, scholar, b. do. William, son, 13, scholar, b. Mddx London Elider E, dau, 8, scholar, b. Cambridge James G, son, 4, b. do. Mary Ann, dau, 2, scholar, b. do. Mary Hull, cousin, unm, 47, Lodger, b. Mddx London Eleanor Jennings, nursechild, 4, scholar, b. Cambridge
I now see William and Elider are bracketed together and there's a comment in the margin which I can't read - Help needed !!! Hope this is a little clearer. The first James may have died...
Having a look at 1851 to see if I can spot Sarah ...
Tanja
BTW = by the way
