Hi Every One I need help!!!!! I have hit a major Brick Wall. Frederick Vivian Richards. Born approx 1874. Father: Frederick VIVIAN, Mother: Catherine RICHARDS
The story goes that Frederick Vivian Died before or just after Frederick jnr was Born, Catherine apparently died also while he was still a child. Then he was adobted?? by whom I don't know. On Frederick VIVIAN RICHARDS marriage certificate to Maria Barber in 1899 SYDNEY NSW. Frederick states his parents as the above mentioned. All of Frederick and Maria's children bar one has the VIVIAN as a second name. Apparently during the 1950's Frederick and Maria sent for their Birth certificates in England. It was then discovered that Frederick was not listed. He may have been register under the VIVIAN surname not RICHARDS. I have searched the 1881 census there are some possiblities If any one has any Bright IDEAS as to where to look next. asaph ( with a sore head)

Not sure if this will be of use - from the Camborne OPC site
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~camborneopc/tmillbur1879-1882.htm
page 198 - listing no. 1581 Catharine RICHARDS died Oct 19th 1882 - age 42 - residence Tuckingmill
How come your Frederick had his mother's surname? A bit unusual

Now 1871 I see a Caroline Richards 24 b Bodmin...She is a married woman living in Redruth Wife of William I Richards and has a 2 year old daughter Eda Caroline so more confusion. I thought Catherine, Corline, Caroline were similar enough. William is a Surgeon General Practitioner......The Daughter is at school in Glos in 1881.....MMMM........Kris

Thats great asaph,
I thought he did look promising anyway and now hearing this it does seem very likely. Perhaps they all emigrated together...Certainly a connection if they were his adopted family......Kris
