Hi could someone plz tell me if 104 st johns road is still there, if it is could somebody plz take a picture of it for me as this is where my grandad lived,also a picture of the school across the road as this is where my mum went.

Hi

I'm not sure if we have already been in touch, but if not the St John's Road I know is in Redhill and there is certainly an infants/juniors school in St John's Road and St John's Church.

I also think the school has some sort of air raid building that they discovered again last year with drawings all over the walls made by the children during the second world war. It must be on th web somewhere or info. through The Surrey Mirror newspaper, they did a spot on it I believe.

We are just trying to see if we can see the same road in Reigate - unless during the time you are looking at, it was in Reigate.

We can only find the one is Redhill, and I have just been told it has now been blocked off from the main road.

I have just come across your enquiry and would like to clarify the information about the school. St John's Infants and Primary School was the one I attended in the 1950s and it is in Pendleton Road, Redhill, opposite St John's Church. I understand that a history of the school is either about to be published or has recently been. During the 1950s another St John's School was established in Woodhatch near Reigate which caused considerable confusion in the area.
As far as I remember, St John's Road was actually in Earlswood.
One of my grandmothers, my parents, aunts, uncles and cousins all attended St John's School.
I hope this is of interest.
