I have a Joseph Archer ( spelt Artcher in 1861) born Market Harland, Norfolk  ......aged 42 on 1861 census for Yorks., occ Ag Lab

Can anyone help please.......where is or was Market Harland  ?

Also does anyone know anything about this family?

This is my latest 'brick wall' as his daughter  Fanny was my great grand mother, she was christened in Handsworth, Yorks 10/10/1858

Have you already tried the Norfolk Transcription Archives: http://www.genealogy.doun.org/transcriptions/index.php

Under parishes there is a list, no Market Harland, but you could try anything similar sounding, in case it's a transcription error.

under Surnames there are 396 Archers, maybe Joseph is among them, with a different parish ?

Still looking................in 1851 Joseph was 32 and lodging in Handsworth Yorkshire unmarried, still stated Market Harland as place of birth, seems strange that both 1851 and 1861 state the same place.
Will try searching for his birth on 'Norfolk' site
