Hi Jeremy, found a John Watkins born 1804 in Llangarren Parish, parents William and Elizabeth Watkins. He was christened on 19 Feb 1804. Possible siblings for him are Jane 1801, Sarah 1802, Benjamin Edward 1803, Mary 1805 and George 1807.

Does it mention the village Longrove? or is the village Llangarren, not to sure about the area, as im from Norfolk

Hi Jeremy, its from own personal data. Its from the British records index. It doesn't mention Longove, just the parish of Llangarren.

Hi Jeremy, sorry its taken me a few days to reply I've been on Holiday to Pembrokeshire. My Watkins did originate in Herefordshire, c1770 Nicholas Watkins was born in Bishops Frome he married an Elizabeth ? c1774 Avenbury, Wilts. Their children were James c1796, Margaret c1799 and Charlotte c1816, James (my gggg grandfather) and Margaret also born in Bishops Frome, Charlotte in Llanelly, Breconshire. The rest were born around Breconshire and Monmouthshire. I'm not sure about any ties with Llangarren, but then I do not know what parish my Watkins were from or Llangarrens proximity to Bishops Frome. Do you recognise any of the names? I am a member of genesreunited.

Just giving a little wave to say I'm researching in Llangrove and Llangarron too... my Watkins include
Elizabeth Watkins christened 1797 in Long Grove (Llangrove) (from Family Search)
her believed father Joseph Watkins bc 1752
Elizabeth married a Burford and was in Llangarron for the 1841 with her father and son, Joseph Burford. This is a new branch for me, so I haven't added onto my site yet, but am working on it!
Will go for a look on genesreunited now...
