Researching my paternal family line. It would appear that most of the family originated in Bayford and then emigrated to outward villages. Furthest back I have got to is Alexander Saunders c1784 married Ann Umerson. They had at least one boy Thomas who married Martha Taylor. I think they had five children. William, Joseph, Eliza Frederick & Rose. My branch originate from
Frederick. My Grandparents lived at The Manor House Cheshunt in the 1930/40s as domestics. Have rang any bells.
