Hi all
Hi please could someone give me some advise on this matter.
When my GGGgrandmothers Jane Mary Down House was Cleared bcak in the 1890s along with other papers this was found 'LIST OF PERSONS EXECUTED AT THE DEVON COUNTY GAOL , FROM THE YEAR 1795' At the bottom of the page it says :- ( PRICE ONE PENNY ) The only relevant name on the sheet is SARAH DOWN who was murdered in 1822 . She had a sister called MARY and a brother called JOHN and they lived at Worlington The girls worked for an ELIZABETH COLE at Moor End , East Worlington . SARAH ( also called SALLY ) would have been in her early twenties .
In my Tree i do have a Sarah Down with sister Mary and brother John she has 9 siblings in all, all born in Winkleigh 8 miles form worlington, but this sarah was bap in 1810.
We feel that there must have been a link with 'our DOWN family for them to have bought the sheet and kept it , as I'm sure they didn't have money to throw away on a whim .)
How can i find more information on this Sarah so i could find a link

Checking the IGI, there are two Sarah Downs christened in Winkleigh. The first is on 10 July 1804, daughter of Simon Down and Mary. She has 8 siblings, including a Mary and a John.
The second, possibly yours, is christened 29 April 1810, daughter of George Down and Grace. This one also has 8 (different) siblings inclusing a Mary and a John!
It's more than likely that George and Simon are brothers, and the two Sarahs first cousins. I wish you luck sorting them out!
