I know MY roots !
|
I have put up several posts but none of them seem to have the blue 'new' box by the query yet I notice practically all of the others have. What am I not doing?
Many thanks, Maggie

Hi Maggie,
Not a dumb question at all. I've been here for ages and I've never found out what things like that mean. Some messages even get smiley faces next to them
I wouldn't worry about it - certainly nothing you are or are not doing, and it doesn't seem to make much difference!
Cheers,
Ros

Well this message has a 'new' next to it on my screen, perhaps it doesn't on yours because it isn't new to you, as you already saw it as you wrote it! Just a guess

Peggy is right - you wrote the message, so it is not "new" as far as you are concerned.
You can add icons to your post as you create it:
At the top it says "Subject" and just below that is says "Message Icon". There is a drop down menu and you choose which you prefer. I have added a Wink!
You can use the next menu to add smilies or bold writing or moving text etc to your message.
The additional options (below left) allows you to add pictures etc to certain posts.
Have a look at the How to use Rootschat board for further info (and better explanations, LOL!)
kind regards, Arranroots

Hi Maggie,
A good idea is not to post the same message on more than one board.
Or, if you do, it is helpful to cross-reference your posts in order to avoid duplication
For example, to your post at: http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,127314.0.html it would be helpful to cross-reference this thread (and vice versa).
Just a suggestion ...
All the very best,
JAP

Thanks again all
