Mysterious error message
« on: Sunday 29 January 06 11:25 UTC (UK) »

Just tried to click onto the thread "good book" on "The Lighter Side" via an email I received to say that someone else had posted to the thread.

I got an error message to say that the thread didn't exist or it was unavailable to me.  This is nonsense, of course.  I was able to get into it by going to the Lighter Side Board and clicking on the thread.

I get countless emails to tell me someone has posted to a thread I am watching, and this is the first occurrence of this message.

Why would this have happened, please??   Huh

Hi Marie

The topic is still there but it has been merged with another thread so perhaps it now has the message ID of the newer thread that it was merged with Huh

Hi Marie,

On Joe's suggestion I merged the "Rabbit proof fence" thread with "good book".

Usually there is no problems, but now and again RootsChat "hiccups" and changes the topic number !

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Gee, that was quick!!  Grin  Grin  Grin

Thanks very much, Casalguidi and Bob!  I was concerned that there might have been some kind of bug.  I'll stop being concerned now!!  Grin

Really don't believe the speed with which some queries get answered here!!
