My cousin will be retiring in the near future and I would like to give him a photo from1944. I have cleaned it up and tried to colour it but am unhappy with the colouring,. I would really appreciate it if someone could do what I can't

Hi Denn,
I think you have done such a good one that only a couple of people could improve on that (and I'm not one of them!) You must have scarred the others off - but come on Rootschatters give Denn some more options! Anyway - here's my attempt.
Cheers
Keith

Kieth, Don't kid yourself as to your ability, you've done a great job there and I am very thankfull. I suppose that having attempted the picture, I know all the things that I have done wrong and they really glare at me and annoy me. I class myself as having the technical knowhow but lacking artistic ability, if that makes sense. I now have the job of compiling a life album for my cousin. Thanks once again

Hi Denn,
Thanks for those comments - I know what you mean - as soon as I see my work on a page - I think what I would alter next time!!
Does that mean we have another 20 or so to look forward to
Cheers

Me, aged 4, just starting out on The Dusty Trail

Hi Denn
When's the deadline for this?
I've got a few spare hours over the nexy few evenings if you need it urgently, but I want to do the best job I can for the worlds most patient tutor (still going great guns with Goggy, I see!)
BTW, I didn't realise how much work it would be to get rid of that texture, but several thousand clicks later and its beginning to smooth out a bit...

Glen, No big hurry, I can't give a precise date but I'm pretty sure that I have about a month before he retires, Thanks very much in advance, I'd better get back to my other posts.

Kieth, I have a thousand that I could post but I know how busy you people are, plus there are people more in need of your help than me. That said there are always some pieces (like this one) that we're not happy with and that extra help is always welcome.

Hi Denn
Heres my attempt at this picture for you. Hope its okay
I've posted a small preview version as well as the full size one because the large one takes up rather a lot of screen space and is difficult to see, but should be better if you decide to do a printout of it
It may need a bit of a tweak on some of the levels, but I can't really judge from my screen. Things look okay here, but then I look at them at work and the colours are way off.
Anyway, back to the grindstone....

Glen, That's amazing - you must have spent ages on that paper texture. I opened up the larger image in photoshop and checked the levels but there was colour right across the range and the minute bit of cut of at the low end of each channel wasn't making any difference at all, in short you had it worked out pretty good.
Thanks once again Denn

Glen, I hope you do not mind but I took a look at the big pic your posted and tweaked it slightly.
Not sure if result is better or not.
