Help
Please could someone help . My father in law, has ask me to find his G.father (mother side) family. I found Richard Dorrington he was born in 1866,? Shoebury, or Sheeles Essex.
In the 1891 census in was a lodger in Sittingbourne, later on he lived in Milton
In the 1901 Census he was on the barge called 'Maria' .
We did not know Richard parents names. or anything about the barge Maria My father in law, mother died when he was young, so he does not know anything about the dorrington family.

Hello Princess,
Nice name. Your Richard Dorington shows as a sea mariner in the 1891 census, born in Shoeburyness, which I believe is in the Southend area. If you do a search of the 1881 census at familysearch.org, you will find more info.
He has brothers, a mum, and lots more info too. It is good to find this for yourself, so enjoy.
