Has anyone come across an ANN PHELAN (b c1846) living / working in the Linslade area circa 1865? She was, at that time unmarried, but gave birth to a son THOMAS circa 1865. He always said his place of birth was Linslade.
I'm trying to trace details of: 1)ANN's life before she married in 1867. 2) THOMAS's birth / baptism.... GRO Indexes do not list him, either in Bucks or London. He was always known as THOMAS COLLINS but I do not know if that was his 'natural surname' or one he 'adopted' upon the marriage of his mother to ALFRED COLLINS in 1867. I've checked GRO Indexes for both COLLINS / PHELAN. Can anyone check the C of E parish registers for Linslade? (What if ANN PHELAN was Catholic and had her son baptised as such?)
Hope this all makes sense...thanks! Fliss
