Hello from Australia. I am looking for MORE information on the family of Plumb from Millbrook Cornwall. I will tell you what I know: Father: Albert George Plumb Mother: Elizabeth Plumb (nee Cudmore) born 1879 Devonport Son 1: William Alfred Plumb born 1893 Devonport Son 2: Bryan L. Plumb born 1899 Plymouth
I have received information from others regarding the Cudmore family. Who was Albert George's father and Mother?
I have placed enquiries on the Genforum board as well and have received some information.
In the 1901 census, Elizabeth is the head of household with William 6 years, Bryan 2 years. Where is Albert George (known as George)?
William becomes a naval seaman and tours out to Australia where he is seconded to the Royal Australian Navy for 3 years. He returns to England 1916 and leaves the Navy in 1924.
Can anyone tell me anything about the other members of the family and indeed whether Elizabeth remarried, Bryan married and if George died before 1901 or later.
Did William remarry in England. He had a wife here in Australia. He never returned to Australia that we know of. Can anyone tell me when he died please. It would have to be after 1924. I would suppose up to 1970 could be later.
Thanks for any help. Lesley

In the 1901 census, there is a Albert G Plumb aged 24 and born in Deptford
He is on a Royal Navy ship "Terrible" in the town of Weihaiwei.
Could this be him?

Here's Albert and Elizabeth's marriage on freeBMD
Marriages Jun 1899 ~~~~~~~~ Cudmore Elizabeth Plymouth 5b 543 Mayne William John Plymouth 5b 543 Plumb George Plymouth 5b 543 Sluman Maria Elizabeth Plymouth 5b 543
A marriage certificate would give you more info on Albert George Plumb i.e. age, name and occupation of father, etc.
From there, going back into the Plumb family would be far easier.

Hello Andy, Thanks for that information. A lady on Genforum also gave me the marriage information, which incidently, I had found also, but all help appreciated. Regarding the Albert G. Plumb from the 1901 census onboard the "Terrible", certainly sounds exciting. I think I will have to get that record from the National Archives. I found the same Albert George Plumb in the Navy but of course not on a specific ship. Thanks for that. Where is Weihaiwei? You have been very kind Lesley Australia
