I have again looked at the convict records for my ancestor Henry Lee[Lea] and I am convinced he is from Herefordshire not Hertfordshire . There is definately no "t" in his place of birth. Can someone please help. Henry was 20 [possibly a 0 or 6] when he was sent out to AUS IN 1837 ABOARD THE ASIA. This would mean born 1811 or 1817. his father's name was James and mother Huh.
Can anybody check criminal cases for 1837 for me. this may shed some light on this mystery.
