Sussex Family History Exhibition and Talks.
« on: Wednesday 15 February 06 14:41 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I found this in todays (15/2/06) Worthing Advertiser...

Digging deeper into your past...

One of Britain's fastest growing hobbies is tracing family history.  Now addicts in West Sussex will have the chance next month to dig even deeper into their pasts when the County Records Office stages a special family history month.

"We will be holding a free exhibition which will show some of the many and varied sources of information which can be accessed at the record offices" explained Mike Coleman, deputy leader of West Sussex County Council, which oversees the Record Office.  "Visitors will be able to take away a free family history information pack, which explains how to use the sources needed to start or expand family history."
On four Wednesday evenings during the month, visitors can attend talks on what life would have been like for their ancestors in Tudor, Georgian, Victorian and early 20th Century times.

All talks take place at the record office in Orchard Street, Chichester at 7.30pm with the opportunity to talk to the speaker.  Admission to the talks is £4.50 each, ot all four for £16.00.
To book tickets, or for further information call 01243 753602.  The exhibition will be open from 9.15am til 4.45pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 9.15am til 4.30pm excluding a 1 hour closure for lunch from 12.30pm.

Hope to see you there!
Love
