Who Do You Think You Are?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/familyhistory/wdytya_celeb_gallery.shtml

"Gurinder Chadha is best known as the writer and director of Bend It Like Beckham.

The film's humour and charm delighted audiences around the world, but the process of making it was touched by sorrow - while Gurinder was writing the screenplay, her beloved father Bhajan passed away."

Should be an interesting one tonight! I've got my place booked on the sofa.  :) It's a great shame it's the final one of the series.

Roll on 9 o'clock!

Yes I enjoyed it far more than the two immediately before it (Julian Clary and Jane Horrocks).

It was also a good example of a family keeping secrets and the differing attitudes of  people within that group.

Yet again though I am left green with envy at the Indian version of "Old Parish Records" .... if only

Enjoyed it and then turned over to Family Ties on BBC4. Wow....over 200 family members headed off to Jamaica for a two week family reunion, having had a previous reunion 4 years earlier, to help add further to their tree research. They stayed at same hotel and had different outings etc planned, including a local graveyard (husband at this point commented that must have been some sight when they all [well, what looked to be a very large number of them anyhow] descended on the graveyard). It was the last in the series too but also very enjoyable.

I think the last one WDYTYR was a little boring,to me anyway, but I guess to the person it was more than interesting. The parish register, was interesting though, especially with the person asleep on the floor in full view of the camera.

Now Family Ties BBC4,that was really interesting, and made more sense of Family Trees.

I thought both programmes gave a good insight on different cultures
