I use tribalpages.com It is free and you can upload your Gedcom file (if you have one).  For a small upgrade cost , about £6 per year you can hen jprint off different views of your ancestors or descendants.

Hi Stephen,

here are some more possibilities to check out:

Topic: Help and advice - family trees on websites
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,76240.0.html

I ended up creating excel spreadsheets for my different family groups, but that is hard work and not (yet) interactive. I want to try adding a hyperlinks on each name to that person's biography.

Bob why dont you do a table like I did? A little clumsy to look at but the info is laid out neatly and the links are easy to do.  Grin

Hi BD,

not a bad idea, thanks for the tip.

My dream is to write a PHP program, using a GEDCOM file as input, where I can say at any time
"start at XYZ, and go back x generations and forward y generations"
but I think that will have to wait till I retire.

In the meantime, your table is idea is looking good !

True, my table is a lot of hard work, and not  everyone has a link to their own page yet.

But then again with a family of 8 kids and all descendents to chase down, and I've done six kids with just 2 left to go, I havent done too badly.  Grin And I've had a lot of fun too.
