Two lost McIvers in Australia
« on: Sunday 02 April 06 13:52 BST (UK) »

Hi there,

I have been unable to find two children
JOHANNA MCIVER BORN 20/1/1868 SCOTLAND
AND ANGUS MCIVER BORN 1880 SCOTLAND
Parents  Finlay and Ann McIver sailed from Scotland and  arrived in Australia on "Otago" into Brisbane QLD 24/5/1884.  The other children who came with them were
John, Maggie,Niel,Cathrine and Malcolm.  I have managed to find marriage and/or death certificates for these but can find no mention of Johanna or Angus.
I would welcome any information . Thanks a lot

Hi Mariac

Per:
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/search.htm

Angus McIVER appears to have died in NSW in 1954:

Ref: 15637/1954   District: YASS
Name:  MCIVER  ANGUS
Father: FINLEY
Mother: ANNIE ISABEL

Look up Angus McIVER here too : - there are a number of entries of WW2 men where where Next Of Kin is given as an Angus McIVER

Thanks Ann for the infor on Angus.  ;DIt seem to be my Angus. The mother and fathers name fit also.

Finding Johanna (Molly) might be a bit harder. I dont know if she died fairly young. Maybe she went to NSW also.  Huh

Cheers
