Looking for Goodison family

Hello,

I'm completely new to this and have begun tracing my Irish roots.  I don't have much to go on but I am looking for information about John Goodison - born 1849 and immigrated to Ontario, Canada (don't know what year).  His parents were William Goodison and MaryAnn Mervin.  I have been told they were from Cavan.  I would very much like to know more about them but I'm not sure where to look next.  Any info or research guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kate,

Thanks so much for the resource!  As luck would have it, I've managed to learn that I stumbled into the wrong county - the Goodisons I am looking for were not from Cavan but from Wexford so I will continue to research and take some questions to the Wexford list.

Hi,

the advice is the same!

Is the father William B in Coolishal upper or Coolnastudd Kilnahue Co Wexford or from Gorey Main st?

All from the Griffiths valuation 1853 in Wexford.
