ww1 KIA- Did he have a wife and children?
« on: Sunday 19 February 06 18:18 UTC (UK) »

Hi everyone!
Ive been working lately trying to build up a picture of a Frank [ also went by the name Frederick] Marshall of Scarborough born in 1877. He died in in ww1 in 1917 with the 455th field company of the Royal Engineers. I know he worked as a servant in the Albermale Hotel in Scarborough in the 1901. However I'm yet to find if he had a wife or children by 1917.
Please can someone check to see if he did?

cheers

Hello Will

You can check the BMD index at Ancestry yourself, it is currently free of charge.

It might take a while though.

kind regards, Arranroots  Wink

Another thought - have you looked for his medal card on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site?

You might be lucky, sometimes it gives next of kin information

thanks. Ive got his MIC which gives no indication of his death. His service numbers were T2970 and 480571. CWGC had the basics of unit initials and date of death. [ The only way i found him was by his date of death.]
Im making a trip to the NA at easter to try and find a service record. Apart from that I actually know very little about the man.

Ill check out the BMD
cheers
