could any one look up Jonathan crabb born 1839 in stifford
(according to the 1881 census)in the 1841 census please
mother and fathers name un-known,have checked ancestry for his birth but with no luck,the only jonathan on there was born in 1841 but died the same year .
any help would be much appretiated.

Hi
Cant immediately see him in 1841 so thought I would work back from 1881.
Here is the 1871, going by the name John but right wife and daughter as 1881.
John A Crab, head, age 29, ag lab born Essex Stifford
Mary A Crab, wife, age 26 born Essex Ockendon?
John Crab, son, age 6 born Stifford
James Crab, son, age 4 born Stifford
Emily Crab, daughter, age 1 born Stifford
RG10 1652
folio 19 page 9

hello nicky and cp, thank you very much for the info,i will have a scout about now to see if i can get any more on these people,and hopefully they will be mine,i have found a marriage for a jonathan crabb on free bmd so i think i will send for the cert.

hi nicky and cp,
have found the cribbs on the 1851
census,couldnt find a jonathan with them so im thinking
perhaps this is not the family im looking for with a different name spelling.
so i will keep on looking for them.
