Florrie HORTON born in Lincoln 1882(ish)

I have had such a quick solution to my previous question (one I and others on another message board had been unable to get to the bottom of) I thought I would see if anyone has a solution to another quandary I haven't been able to fathom.

My Gt Grandma was Florrie Horton and was born in Lincoln in 1882, I have not been able to find her birth index anywhere.  Her parents were Samuel and Sarah Horton and I have found Florries brother and sisters birth indexes but not florries.  Is there some reason why she wouldn't have been registered?  I have tried various versions of Florrie, Florence etc but as far as my family know she was called Florrie.  Has anyone got any suggestions as to where I can look next?

I also have a query about Samuel Horton and the mystery surrounding the building firm he ran with his Brother (S&R Horton Builders) but I will do that as another question.

Have you checked the birth registration of a Florence Horton in March 1879? also alternative spellings, ie; Houghton....

She was definitely born in 1882 as she died in 1962 aged 80 (unless she lied about her age all her life for some reason)  I haven't tried various spellings of Horton why ever didn't I think of that, I was so caught up thinking of variations of her first name it didn't occur to me to check her surname  Roll Eyes

The Florence born in 1879 appears to be daughter of John HORTON, shoemaker ... also from Laceby ... living on Canwick Road, so would probably be a cousin of your Florrie.

Incidentally, FreeBMD has no birth registrations for the first 3 quarters of 1881.
