The Weobley Registration District covered a large rural area of Herefordshire and there will be loads of Marys I fear.
Again the Parish register if the birth was in the village of Weobley as opposed to the Registration District will have a number of Marys, so we reaaly need a few more clues.

Hi Tom,

What are the details of the two Mary's you have found?  Your best bet would be to obtain the marriage certificate of Edward Williams/Mary ?.  This would give her maiden name and father's name. At least then you would know you are following the correct family and not wasting your time on the wrong track.

Ancestry.co.uk has BMD's searchable for free.

Hi Tom,

This is going to be difficult without proof, the 1841 census doesn't give place of birth!

William Jones  75  Ag. Lab   No
William George  30  Shoemaker  N
Charlotte George  30       "          Y
Eliza George  15  -   Y
Emma George  5  -   Y
Mary George  3  -   Y

Brook House No. 2
Weobley

HO107/426   folio 12  page 20

(Y/N = Yes/No born in county)

There is no Mary Newton in Weobley, but there are two in other areas, will get details and post.

Joseph Newton  30  Ag. Lab  Y
Sarah Newton  25   Y
Mary Newton  2   Y

Lidgmore(?) Common, Kings Pyon

HO107/426   folio 7  page 9

George Newton  30  Wheelwright (?)   Y
Mary Newton  29   Y
Mary Newton   4   Y
George Newton   2    Y
Martha M.......?   40    Y

Leominster
HO107/430   folio 35  page 5

As said before the only way to verify the correct family is to obtain the marriage certificate!

Ledgemoor Common is just outside Weobley.

That is why I feel that only people born WITHIN the village of Weobley will put that down on the Census returns and other may well put down the other small hamlets around the area as their places of birth.
