William Griffiths married Eliza Bishop on 5/7/1832 in Kington.
Floodgates is on the west side of Kington , on a tributary of the River Arrow called Back Brook, now alongside the A44 by-pass. But previously where the early 1820 horse drawn tram road passed and later around 1860 the railway.

On the 1851 cenus William snr is shown aged 38, and there is a William Griffiths baptised on 30/7/1813 to William and Mary Griffiths.
A William Griffiths of Kington married Mary Shaw on 21/5/1810 at Pembridge.
Caroline is also a daughter of William and Eliza being baptised in 1832, just after William and Eliza were married
