You would perhaps do best to check with your local Mormon family history centre.   www.familysearch.org  to find the one closest to you - they are all over the world.  They will almost certainly be able to get you the parish registers to look at on microfilm, for a small fee, if they exist.
You will have to make some good guesses about which church was involved though.  I use the "Phillimore Atlas and Index of Parish Registers", which is available at my public library, and may also be at the Family History Centre, to help me figure out the parishes;  3rd edition is best.  There may be some other way that someone else can suggest though.

I was advised by another rootschat member to put in a lookup request for parish records(I am not able to get to the London archives at the moment due to a Physical condition)..... I must have listed my request wrong!

Is there any way you can search on line or buy software with the parish records?

I have done a search on the Familysearch.org site and the Ancestry site with no luck.

If anyone can lookup the parish records for me it would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is figuring out which parish is the right St. Lukes.  I would have guessed St. Lukes Old Street Finsbury which is near Islington but those records are on the IGI and he doesn't appear there.  Although there are a couple of Bagnells christened there in 1813 and 1815.

Looking at the census records, I would suggest obtaining a birth certificate for one of his children to get Ann's maiden name and then his marriage certificate if you can find it.  This timescale is not fully covered by freeBMD so use the images at http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

Hi all,

I have found the marriage between James Bagnell & Anne Freeland (11/08/1853 Old Church, Saint Pancras, London) on the Family Search. Org website.
Can someone please give me some advice on what I should do next with this information.

Thanks,

Barbara

Hello Barbara

The Freebmd index is far from complete and is updated quite regularly.

Your James Bagnell has turned up there, the marriage is in the Sept qtr of 1853 with a reference of St Pancras 1b, 100

With this information you can order a copy of the marriage certifiate from the GRO. There is a link at the bottom of the list, 'has our search engine found the record? click here for what to do next.

When you get the certificate it will confirm the parish they married in, ages, father's names and occupations.

You will then be able to start working backwards again with the 2 fathers names.

Is this what you have been looking for?

Hello again Barbara

You can order the certificate with just the James Bagnell name, but you will need the rest of the reference details, district , number,  (St Pancras 1b, 100)

When you receive the certificate it will show both the bride and groom names, their ages or 'full' if they were over 21, their occupations, their addresses at the time, their fathers names and occupations and if the fathers were deceased. you may also get the witnesses names.
