Hi , Does anyone know if a source exists that would have a list of CZECH migrant workers who came to work in Salford, Lancs just after WW2? Two lovely young Czech ladies lodged with my Grandmother for a while and I think they worked in a local Mill or Factory. I was 7 years old and only know their first names but if a register was created then possibly a lodging address would be recorded and allow me to trace their names. I don't know whether they stayed in England or returned to Czech Republic.
Regards to all, Ian Headford, Cumbria, England.

Hi Annie, I have contacted Salford as you suggested and they passed my enquiry on to the local history society. They tell me that the Greater Manchester Police at Newton Street, Manchester hold a register of ALIENS 1914 - 1960, and my 2 girls should be on that. Will have to wait till I visit Manchester to follow up, but many thanks for the tip. Kind regards, Ian Headford, Cumbria.
