Over the last months I have continued "digging" on and off and have established that Sarah George had at least 4 sons (John, Thomas, Edwin and Edward).

I have birth certificates for Thomas and John (May 1838 & Oct 1849 respectively). In Thomas' case, Thomas Powell is shown as the father whereas John has a blank.

I am actually interested in Edward George who married Ellen Bruton in May 1875 and am trying to find his parents. Unfortunately I was unable to find a birth certificate, but found a Marriage certificate which showed Thomas George (deceased) as the father. Could I be smelling a rat? Could this have been Thomas Powell?

What do you think?
