Transferring data from one programme to another
« on: Friday 24 February 06 05:15 GMT (UK) »

I have been using a free programme known as 602PC Suite which has great similarities to Excel.
The free updates for 602 will no longer be available after the end of next month (March).
Since installing 602 several years ago I have installed Excel and as the 602 data is not recognized by Excel I cannot use Excel to open them (whilst I can still (at least for the present ) access them with 602).
What I want to do is move all (and there are many) my 602 Spreadsheets over to Excel.
I can copy them and transfer OK ........... BUT ......... as I have a lot of 'comments (notes)' attached to individual cells, the copying and transferring does not accommodate (include) these comments.
There must be a way around this ........... manually copying so many notes would take so terribly long.
Any thoughts ........ please,

It is supposed to support DBS and CSV formats. Try saving your spreadsheets in those formats and opening in Excel
Cheers

Hello Guy ...... I thought I should let you know this.
I have been doing all manner of things to get the comments (or notes as I call them) and I found by going to 'save' with each of them this message came up;
******************************************
'This file has been created using a later version of Excel.
There is a remote possibility that certain workbook properties to the later version may be lost if you save the file in this version.
If you dont want to preserve the original file,click cancel then rename the file to the new version using the 'save as' command.
Continue saving?'
So I clicked OK to continue saving and up came another dialogue box saying;
'This file is a Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 workbook.Do you want to overwrite it with the latest Excel format?'
So I clicked OK and when next I opened the file all the comments were included.
*******************************************
How this came about I have no idea ............ unless the 602 original file was perhaps based upon the Excel 5.0/95 format.
Anyway ........ all is now well and thank you so much for your interest.
