Would anybody be able to check an address for the in the 1841 census for Stepney please?
I now have an address to check for the Curtis Family I am looking for.
The address is 11 Rutland Street Stepney in the Sub District of Mile End old Town Middlesex.
James Richard Curtis (father) A Sawyer by occupation DOB unknown. Elizabeth Curtis (nee Brown)(mother) DOB abt 1811 Gravesend Kent John James Curtis Born 25/8/1839 Stepney
The address was taken from John James Birth certificate.
I do not know if James Richard Curtis and Elizabeth had any other children yet and also I do not know when they married.
The 1851 census has been checked for them and they are not at this address at this time. I dont know where they are in 1851. Their son John James Curtis was living at Stepney in Heath Street in 1861 aged 21, he was lodging, so perhaps his family may have been near this address.
I also do not have birth details for them. I have found a possible IGI christening for James Richard Curtis 10 March 1815 at St George Gravesend Kent. Father John Curtis Mother Elizabeth. This is the only James Richard Curtis I have found on the IGI. It may be possible as his wife was born in Gravesend. I have not found Elizabeth Brown's baptism yet.
In the 1871 census Elizabeth Brown was living with her son John James Curtis aged 60 living at 66 Hardinge Street, Tower Hamlets aged 60 a widow. It says she was from Gravesend. This is the only information I have on her.
If anyone can help me find a marriage between James Richard Curtis and Elizabeth Brown and their births and deaths (James Richard was before 1871) I would be very grateful.
Many thanks Caron

Hello
I'm doing a bit of housekeeping and wondering if this older request has been resolved in the meantime or you are still looking for the information? If the latter, do you have any further information to hand?
If I don't hear from you in a while I'll assume this is resolved and move it to the 'completed' section.
Regards Biker
