Manchester Cathedral Lookup

Hi,
Is there anyone who could do two lookups for Manchester Cathedral?
The first is a marriage between Thomas Duxbury and Jane Baron on 23rd October 1810.
The second is the baptism of their son William Duxbury on 28th July 1813.
I've been stuck on my Duxbury line for ages and have finally got a new lead.
I'd do the lookup myself, but due to work commitments, I can't get to Manchester.
I'm willing to re-imburse anyone who can help.

Hi Floridagirl,

The MLFHS are hoping to release records for Manchester Cathedral (hopefully very soon)

If you get no immediate answers I will be able to go before Christmas for you (hopefully in November) I have a few days holiday owing and I can easy look for yours as well as mine  Smiley

Put the purse away girl !!!!  I am due to do a bit of digging for myself it makes it more worth while doing it for two Grin

In the mean time if anyone can get there quicker just let us know !

Hello Floridagirl

You could until recently send for copies of marriage and baptism registers from Manchester  Library Local Studies centre at the Manchester Library 50 pence a copy very good they are too. This service has been suspended for the moment but they may send your information if you telephone them. You need to know the date and Parish of the event.

You could type Manchester Local studies into search and it will take you to the page for information. or Telephone them.

Tel 0161-234-1980 (Mon - Thurs 10am to 4.30pm).


Copying from parish registers
Copying of original registers is not permitted, but visitors to the Library are welcome to make microfilm print-outs on the self-service printers in the Social Sciences Library.  Manchester Archives and Local Studies can normally supply microfilm print-outs by post* – assuming the register is on microfilm - if the precise church and date of the event is specified, and as long as the date is from 1754 onwards for a marriage or 1813 onwards for a baptism/burial. See the print-out order form for further details.

* We regret that this service has been temporarily suspended, until further notice, due to staffing changes.
