Eddie,
Can you provide any clues? What province did he go to? Did he have a wife and children? When was he born? Did he ever write home? Was he named in his parents' wills or obits (which might contain an address)?
A search here showed nine folks with that name, some with middle names or initials (choose "All Provinces"):

Hello Pauline, Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid I don't have too many details fo William. If you go to http://duncan-family-tree.rootschat.net/ you will see all the information which I have to date. The D.O.B. is estimated from the D.O.B. of his sister Agnes and the D.O.D. is assumed by adding 70 to the D.O.B. for the sake of having some date. The family had a propensity for including family names so this could possibly help in recognizing any connection. To the best of my knowledge he did not emigrate till after WW2 he did have children but whether they were born in Scotland or Canada I do not know.
I appreciate that this is not a lot to go on but any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for your interest
Eddie
