Please could SKS check on an untranscribed 1881 census for Michael Jolly bc1866. I only have access to a transcribed copy. On my copy it states Mitchell Jolly bc1866 Ireland, his father Michael Jolly bc1831 Ireland, was the head of the family. They lived at 142 Coates Street< Bowling, Bradford.

Thanks for the information, I hoped that it would be Michael. Michael is on the 1871 with the family, but there is no Mitchell. There is another Michael Jolly bc1870 living with his Grandmother in Devon also born in Ireland. However he is down as Michael H Jolly and my Michael is Michael James Jolly. It seems a bit odd, maybe it was an accent problem but they have the older Michael correctly  Do you have any suggestions?
I have deleted your previous message, but have taken a copy for my records

The enumerator probably wrote down what he thought he heard or perhaps couldn't read his own writing! You might be right about the different accent.
