Looks like a great set of chatters Cheesy.

Is it possible for two users to have access to one space. For example my wife already has ownership of a site, so can I be granted permissions to if I want to add another section to it?

Hi Andy,

Welcome to RootsChat  Smiley

Won't your wife tell you her password  Smiley

If you are both working on one webspace, you would need to agree on what would be put on it, where and how.

Bob

Passwords are not a problem Roll Eyes, but basically Mrs S is working on the pure Gedcom side of our history whilst I am working on the miiltary side of things.

So, ideally we would have a shared home page with sub pages that are the home page of the Gedcom and military sub-sites. We simply feel that two ids accessing the one website is the logical way to go (BTW we are both IT Pros).

Also is it possible for two people to be logged in using the same id at the same time?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Andy,

I don't really see your problem: if you have divided the 'tasks' between you, and worked out a directory structure, for the different bits, and you have amicably decided on the home page (index.htm) then there is no problem there.

Sorry, but you'll have to wait for Trystan to give an answer to that one.

In the meantime, how about a bit of "trial and error" ?
Assuming you have two computers (if you don't then you can ignore this, as it just boils down to agreeing who is using the computer right now !) why not let your wife log in to the webspace, then you log in too.

Either it works, or it doesn't  Grin

I don't think there would be a problem with two people using the same ID if you are on the same internet connection as you would have the same IP address (although you'd probably best wait for trystan to answer).

If the above is true then there shouldn't be a problem.  Just create separate folders for each of your work and link to them from the main page.  You'd be changing one folder, she'd be changing the other folder.

Andy,

You can also apply for a second webspace if you wish, not a problem.
