Hi All,
I have reached your county - aren't you lucky
But I seem to be stuck before I start - I have the 1851 census for a James True - aged 41 (ie b.1809/10 in Lynn) - cork cutter. However nothing appears on IGI - and when I look it seems as though you have to be non-comformist to exist in this county - where do I visit next?
Cheers
Keith

Hi Keith; I have to disagree with "Being a Non-conformists to exist", I am, lead to believe some of my family fall into this category, and am finding really hard to find them.
However I know how you feel. If not visited , take a look at the links below, or indeed leave more info here.

Hi Blue Spirit,
Thanks for those links - well at least it looks as though records exist
I realise that every county has its different ways - when I went to visit my auntie 50 years ago I thought I went to Kings Lynn - did not realise it was Lynn King's
All the best from - Church Whit - no in the north we do things differently - Whitchurch, Shropshire
Cheers

Hiya Keith,
I found this website invaluable for Norfolk research...
http://www.genealogy.doun.org/transcriptions/index.php
However I've had a quick peruse for True's and cannot find James..... There doesn't seem to be much info on Kings Lynn, but it's worth keeping in mind in case you venture further around in Norfolk.
Happy Hunting Love Legs xxxx

Hi Legs,
Thanks for that link - it was one of the few mentioned here on rootchat - but as you say nothing on Kings Lynn - must learn to get that town correct

Hi Annie,
Isn't everybody looking for the True(th)!!
No he is a new one to me - have just emailed him.
Also noticed some Tabernham on there as well - another of my lot - I think when you reach a new county you have to find all the small local links - that have so much information.
Trouble is my lot keep popping up in different counties - I must have a read here again: http://batemans-history.rootschat.net/preconceivedideas.htm
Seems an interesting site
Cheers
