burials lookup request

Good afternoon Jane Would it please be possible for you to see if you can locate the burials of James and Jane Elms. Hope they are in The Dorking, Abinger Area. Thankyou Alun

Hi Alun,
I have a JAMES ELMS buried 21/9/1839 age 53 Abinger
JANE ELMS buried 31/3/1834 age 34 Abinger.

There is also the name of ELMES, does that help?

If you can be more specific with dates/ages, I might be able to help more.  Just get back to me,

Hi Jane . All I have is that James Elms married Jane King in 1807 in Dorking. Assumming James was 20yrs when he married ,then the James Elms who was buried in 1839 aged 53yrs tallies. But the Jane Elms buried in 1834 aged 34 would only have been 8yrs old when she married in 1808 , so that is not the one.I will see if I can locate them in the 1841 census for the area. I know that they had a son Wiliam born Abinger 1808 so would have been 33yrs in the 1841 census. Will get back if I locate the family . Thankyou for your help. Regards Alun.

Hi Alun,
I have a Jane Elms buried 18/12/1824 age 57 Chobham.  But this would have made her 40ish at marriage...unlikely.
Jane Elms buried 1847 age 9 weeks, Abinger.  Obviously not her but one to keep for future reference!
NO Jane under the spelling of ELMES.
Have you considered that Jane survived james & might have remarried?  Therefore she would have been buried under a different name.
I have the transcript of Abinger parish records & Dorking (but no marriages for Dorking) so I'm going to have a look for you there to see if anything turns up...watch this space!
