The Reverend Charles James HUTTON was either the vicar or curate off a church in Chalford (Anglican). Charles and his first wife Mary had two daughters in Chalford, namely Mary in 1825 and Hester Medley Hutton in 1828. It is this last child that I cannot find anything about. By the 1841 census Charles has a second wife and more children but no Hester. I was wondering if anyone has any death records for Chalford? I presume she has died but would like to know if that is the case. I do have the NBI disks but she is not there. I have had problems tracking all her half brothers as well and the family is just generally being very difficult!
Thank you very much Jill Strathalbyn South Australia

Hi Jill, do you have Mary in the 41? its just I have found this family and wondered whether Mary and Hester went to live with them
Charles Hutton 42 a clergyman Isabella 43 Mary 14 Hester 13 James 7 Charles 6 Isabella 4 Henry 2
all born out of county, except for Henry, living St John Rectory House, St John Ilketshall, Suffolk. It just seems a bit of a coincidence, unless of course Charles is related to your Charles somehow, what do you think?
Regards Kate.

Hi Kate yes this is the family. They lived there for some years and you would think that if something happened to them it would be recorded there. I do have marriages for a couple of the girls from the parish records but nothing else. I cannot find a single one of the boys. Charles and his wife Isabella both die after the 1851 but at that time there is only the child Charles at home - no brothers - and by 1861 not even Charles. Thank you for your interest Kate. Kind regards Jill
