Can anyone please colour my Irish Guard?

I have attached a photo of my dad and myself. I have attempted some restoration by taking out some creases etc  However I would dearly love to have a colour photo of dad in his smashing uniform. We only have black and white.
The tunic should be red of course and he had almost black hair. Mine was brown and although I am not sure what colour my coat was, I did have some shamrock below the collar. Well it was St Patrick's day!
I do have a photo of his medals that I could post if the colours on his ribbons are needed.

The original is only a very small photo.... 2" x 3" I'm not sure I can make it any bigger. Any ideas?

I've cropped the white bits bits, leaving just your photo, without changing the size

       Thanks Jackie, and thanks Bob. I've done a preliminary clean up but more work to go yet, it may take a while.
        Here is where we are, if anyone wants to use this as a colouring base - help yourself.
        By the way Jackie, what was all the lines - looks a bit like lightening, I have seen similar caused by static in a camera body, but for some reason I don't think this is static.

Second thoughts,
       Yes it is static, in the 1950s many cameras were made wholly or partially of plastic and the movement of the film over the rollers or pressure plate would cause a discharge. considering the small size of the original neg' (probably 127film) these flashes are quite small.
        Now I've opened my big gob you will surely tell me different.

Hi Jackie

If you could post the picture of the medals it would be very helpful, and would make for a more acturate picture.

I can see that the first one is the 1939-45 Star, but the next one could be either the Italy Star or the France and Germany Star. In B/W they'd both look the same (dark,light,dark,light,dark ribbon).

And if anyone could let me know where I could get one those Austin Champs you are standing in front of...

Here are the medals. My apologies if they appear twice as the first time I tried I got an error message.
There are more medals than on the old photo. Just disregard the extra ones on the far right. He earned another one or two after the old photo was taken.

The tunic is scarlet and the sash a a little bit deeper red.
I don't know whether you might like to put the hint of a blue plume on the right hand side of the bearskin. Attaching a very crude mini pic of an Irish Guard from last year's Trooping the Colour. Actually the sash and plume in this photo has come out a bit darker than I would like. Hope you get the idea.

That looks great Tomkin. I wish I had the patience to try it.
I just noticed that the trim around his neck and down the fron of his tunic should be white. I will have a go at that and post it back.
