I think the lady sitting in front of him looks a bit like some of the females in the photo but will have to print out. Jumping up and down and keeping them in memory is a bit dodgy Smiley

Hi guys, sorry for resurrecting this topic, but I believe I've made some progress on identifying it, with the help of my mother and 10 year old daughter (oh to have young eyes again  Smiley)

We believe that the boy on the extreme left at the front and the one sitting on a chair behind him and to his left are the two men standing in the other photo, one of whom is my G. Grandfather, Samuel Jerome. This would date the photo, as has been suggested, at around 1890 making Samuel 12. We also think that the woman immediately above him is his mother my G. G. Grandmother Ann Jerome (nee White). Going on the fact that it is a wedding photograph and the brides immediate family are to her right (our left) that would make the gentleman in the funny hat the brides father, my G. G Grandfather Matthias White. Going back through the records I found that Ann's sister Emily married in the first quarter of 1889, thus putting it firmly in the frame for it being a White family wedding photo.

I would be interested in whether people can see my logic and that I am on the right track! Also from the photo are you able to tell the affluence of the people involved as there is a family rumour that the White side of my family were closely related to Timothy White (the chain of shops/chemists that got taken over by Boots). I've yet to delve into that side of the family so this photo will be my starting point.  Smiley
