Hello,
Please could anyone lookup for me James Bennett b1873 Ilkeston and his wife Sarah b.1874 Codnor. They had a dau. Martha b.1897 Ilkeston.

I think that she was my Sarah Elizabeth Frost that married in 1896 Cheadle Dist. I need to check this out though. Don't want to get cert. in case it's wrong.
Have tried to find her on 1891 - no luck.
She may be down just as Sarah Frost.
She was Bapt. in Burton Upon Trent but born around the Codnor/ Ironville poss. Selston area.
She is proving a difficult one!

Possibly James Bennett from 1901 census married Sarah Shelton
There is a marriage freeBMD
Jun qtr 1894 Basford district (reg district for Codnor and Ilkeston)
on same page
James bennett
Sarah Shelton
and in 1891 there is a Sarah Shelton of correct age b Codnor
I can't see why a couple b. Codnor/Ilkeston who settled in Ilkeston and children b. there would go to Cheshire to marry ....
although stranger things have happened?

have just been looking at your previous posts to try and find where your Sarah Eliabeth frost was from
I see you have a Sarah A (Ann) frost b. Underwood Notts (age 8 in 1881)daughter of Thomas/Mary
there is also a Sarah E Frost .c.1875 langley Mill -living at codnor park 1881 daughter of William/Emma mary
Are you certain she was baptised Burton on trent -again I can see no reason for the baptism to take place there
There is a Sarah Elizabeth Frost of same age b. Ashbourne area -who would be nearer to burton on trent
Have you got your Sarah Elizabeth's muddled???
Do you have her parents??

Hello Suzard,
Here is an update.
Sarah Elizabeth Frost was born 9 Apr 1874
She was Bapt. 6 Aug 1874 Burton On Trent.
Her parents Peveril & Sarah Elizabeth were m. 1871 Burton -On -T.
Her mother died 1875 Derby.
Her father left her with his parents in Codnor Park, Derby and that is where she is on the 1881 Census. Although she is listed as their dau. and should be Grandaughter. Her place of birth is given as Langley Mill, Notts. After that I lose track of her.
I have tried to match, from the 1901 Census, Sarah Elizabeths of similar age and birth locality. Sadly, I am not getting very far in finding out what happened to her.

I've found a few notes - still don't know why I have them?
Unfortunately no joy!
I have Asenath married to Charles King.
And did peveril marry again twice? and then he settled in London. (at one time in area his mother was from) Thought maybe sarah Elizabeth may have gone to London -but no trace.
As she gives her p.o.b. as langley Mill Notts -you may have to look for a Sarah b. Notts or Derbys. ( Langley Mill is part in Derbys part in Notts -postal address Notts -but comes under Heanor Derbys for census purposes.}
I 've made a note to check out palin surname-why I don't know.
Later tonight I will go through my notes and see if I can piece it together.

Hello Suz,
Yes, Peveril did marry twice again and lived "in sin" with another also. His first wife Sarah Elizabeth (nee Hurdis) was born in Leicester but lived mostly around Burton Upon Trent.
