Hi
I am trying to find details of Robert CHAMBERS born c.1776 in Hollingbourne, I don't have much else to go on unfortunately. I am also looking for a possible marriage of Robert in about 1800 to an Ann whose maiden name I am searching for. They would have married either in Hollingbourne or Stockbury, and their first child was born in Hollingbourne in c1801.
Sorry if it sounds a needle in the proverbial but any help is appreciated.

Oh blow, thanks for looking, knowing my family they probably never bothered to get married! Where can I get access to those parish records as I have other Chambers I need to check out, any advice gratefully received.

Not sure if this will help at all, but whilst researching my own relatives in Stockbury, I found a connection to the Chambers family. They seemed to be liberally scattered around the Stockbury and surrounding areas. Although I dont have access to the Hollingbourne records, I do have access to the parish records to the villages surrounding Stockbury. If you give me a few more details I will gladly look through these to see if I can find your relative.

Thanks for the reply. Basically I am searching for the marriage of Robert Chambers and Ann ? in around 1800, more details in above post. I believe they had 4 children, Ann c 1801, William c 1802, Richard c1807 and Robert c 1818. My reason for concluding they were likely to have been married in or around the Stockbury are is that he was born Hollingbourne, and she was Stockbury, the children were born Holingbourne, Newington, Detling, Rainham (probably!), hence the general area interest

I have checked the parish records I have access to and although I have come across several Chambers, unfortunately I cannot find anything for Robert.

If you have the search results to 'hand' ie don't need to look again, how about a Richard, same details, some of the family have come across him as Richard but on all the Census returns he is Robert but you never know!
