I am looking for John Beard in 1841. He is at home in 1851, but missing in 1841. And as he would only be 12 I can't think he would be far away, even if he was working. Can anybody see him?

Seems we are researching the same family of Beards in Ware. Thought I might be able to help with the 41 census but don't appear to have it. Have details of 51 and, I think, John Beard on 61.
There is a bit of a mystery as far as I am concerned on this. My maternal great grandfather was William Beard who appears on the 61 as Susan's 14 year old son but he isn't on the 51 and I have his birth as Oct 1849 which doesn't quite tally with the 61 entry. His marriage cert says his father was James Beard. I have tracked that Susan was the wife of George Beard and that they married at Thundridge in 1828 (a village a mile or so north of Ware), Susan being Susan Salmon. George died in 1840 at the age of 42 which leaves a bit of a mystery as to the father of William. I have done a fair amount of searching but haven't pursued much lately because I rather came to a dead end. The obvious solution to William's father is that he was the lodger, James Stamp and that William was unaware that his parents weren't married. But I have another sort of mystery that I can solve.
