How do i upload to my website? Help!!!!!!!!

first step is to read up
Topic: TUTORIAL: Step-by-Step Guide to building your website

in particular,
4 a) Building a website using a Family History Program
and
6. Uploading to your site, and
6b Using an FTP program
6a Using the RootsChat File Manager FTP
will be more useful later if you change single files, but Legacy tends to produce lots of small files, so 6b will be better for you.
Have a go, and if/when you get stuck, let us know here, and someone will help you with the next step

I know i will get there but due to illness it has taken a long time. Now i just want it up. I think i know my problem. for some reason my page location on Legacy will not let me put in Data files etc roots chat so may have to dump these pages and create new ones if it will let me.

Each time i try to save my webpages it is saved as a 'wof' file. How do i change it?

I think i have uploaded something but this is what i get ;
The requested URL /404.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Did you receive any activation email to activate your website?? IF not then your website has not been activated. IF yes, then there is a problem. In which case you must email Trystan (the boss/owner of this website) to help you.
Have you tried uploading your webpages with the Rootschat FTP program? There is one below. First you must log in with stonehouse.rootschat.net (nothing else) and your password.
http://www.rootschat.net/cgi-bin/amanager.cgi
Once you have logged in, then click File Manager and from there you can upload your pages.
Re the legacy webpages - you might need to upload each page rather than the entire file. The pages SHOULD be htm or html pages. After all, they are webpages right?

Thank -you I had to upload 4 pages they have uploaded as it told me they have.
I have had my site since Nov but due to illness i have not had time to upload until now. I will email Trystan a bit later on as he is probably still asleep.

among the pages you uploaded, was at least one page called either index.htm or index.html ?
This is the home page, or starting page, which the website needs to have.

Hey I just read your profile. You're in NZ?
Cool. I'm a Kiwi too, but now I live in Canada. I lived and worked for a number of years in Auckland - moved around a lot too.  Places like Onehunga, Takapuna, Glenfield, Royal Oak, Mt Eden, Mt Roskill and even way out in Henderson for a while too. 
Oh yeah, and my sister lives in Pukukohe and works - I think - in Waiuku.
