We have found out that John Edwin Cornes joined the 53rd regiment of Foot 17/4/1824. Wondering what others have found with family joining army..would it be likely that he was from Shropshire to join a Shropshire regiment. Lost as to where to go next. Marriage cert didn't have any info and Harts list has given us overview of army service. Any suggestions??

Yes, many thanks. They don't have any records. Just thought there may be something other than PRO, hopeful some Cornes researchers may emerge
