Hi radcliffe,

This looks like his birth:

William Percival Lear   Jun 1895   Stroud   6a   341

and a possible marriage:

William P Lear   Sep 1919  Stroud  6a  1021   bride:  Nellie Perry

Found on FreeBMD.

Hi both  Smiley

Are you sure Albert's brother was 30 years younger than him, Radcliffe? His parents would have been 50+ - not impossible but ...
This looks like the family in 1881:
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=6033402
RG11/2493 58 19

Having a look at later census ...

George, son, 19, Shoemaker, b. do.
Ada, dau, 15, Boot machinist, b. do.
Gilbert, son, 11, scholar, b. do.
Margaret, dau, 9, scholar, b. do.
Frank, son, 7, scholar, b. do.

Sarah is widowed in 1901 and there are no new children

1901
RG13/2394 135 19
Bristol, Gloucestershire
Burchell Green Rd

Sarah A Lear, head, wid, 57, b. Kingswood

Margaret A B, dau, 19, Dressmaker, b. do.
Frank, son, 17, Painter & Paper Hanger, b. do.

Just seen your Northumberland post - so William was Albert's son, correct? If so, he must have been born after 1901 - the 1901 census shows only daughter Sarah A.
