Dear All,
I'm hoping you may be able to help me with the following. I am looking for further census returns of an individual I have just found in the 1881 census.
The 1881 census return reads:
Daniel BOWE, 47, born Isel, Cumberland
Residing in 40 George Street, Whitehaven, Cumberland
Occup - Printer Compositor
Wife, Martha BOWE, 47, born Harrington, Cumberland
Children,
Francis, Martha, Annie, Joseph, Margaret A., Sarah

There is a chance that Daniel's surname is actually "BLOW(E)" - (or at least that's what I'm hoping!)

Thanks Tricia,
That's great work. It doesn't appear that he is a "Blowe", does it. I think it will maybe depend on the name and profession of his father.

Hi Sam,
I have looked on the 1841 in Isell, Wythop and Cockermouth with no sign of him. 
It does look like he moved to Whitehaven after he married, as he married in Cockermouth-

Daniel Bowe Cockermouth 10b 752 & on the same page Martha Elliot
this is the only marriage that pops up if you search for Daniel Bowe marrying a Martha.
I looked on the IGI for Daniels birth and the only one I found was in CrossCanonby on 9th June 1833, father Daniel mother Sarah.
I have found this Daniel on the '41-
