I think pbenyon is in the process of changing something.

PS. Joel Singleton married Mary Patch 6th May1760, Seaborough, Dorset. which is now in Somerset.
Where would the parish records be for Seaborough, Dorset or Somerset?

According to GENUKI http://www.uk-genealogy.org.uk/genuki/DOR/parishes.html Seaborough is in Dorset.
Try searching the Dorset OPC www.dorset-opc.com , lots of SINGLETONs, PATCHs but no Joel SINGLETON  , but who knows, you may find Mary's family.
