Does anyone have any links or info on this man? (far right with buttonhole)

This is Thomas Turnbull born 1844 in either Chillingham or Kirknewton. The earlier census give him as being born in Kirknewton and from 1881 he is given as being born in Chillingham.

He is the son of George Turnbull b abt 1810 Scotland and Mary ?? b abt 1811 Ilderton.

He married Margaret Mills in Alnwick in 1873 and they had 5 daughters that I know of. I cannot find any sons. The girls were:

Isabella b Nov 1874 Sleekburn
Catherine Elizabeth b 1877 Dudley Colliery
Mary Elizabeth b 1880 West Moor
Lucy Frances 1884 Choppington
Jane Mills b 1886 Choppington

Catherine married Peter James Burns in 1898 and this photo is both sets of parents (l-r  - Jane Horsburgh, Hugh Burns, Margaret Mills, Thomas Turnbull)

Mary Elizabeth Turnbull married Joseph Waggot in 1907 but we have no details for Joseph or their children if any

Jane Mills Turnbull married Thomas Weightman Grey b 1877 Shilbottle. They had 5 children: Thomas b 1912, George b 1914, James b 1915, Frances b 1917 and Eileen b 1921. The only marriage we know of is Eileen to onald Straughan b 1920


Thomas had 5 siblings:

Eleanor b 1833 Kirknewton

Mary Ann b 1837 Kirknewton

William b 1839 Kirknewton died between 1851 and 1853

George b 1846 Kirknewton married Elizabeth Smith (?) b 1843 Ford - 5 children 1872 - 1880 (George, Elizabeth, James, Mary Ann, William)

William b 1853 Kirknewton married 1877 Mary Fogo b 1849 Kirknewton - 4 children 1877 - 1885 (James, Margaret, Cecilia, Alice)


By 1881 George and Mary were farmers in Alnwick. They cannot be found after that.

Is there anyone out there with a link or info on anyone in this family?
